This page is a tribute to our cats who have left us and gone over the rainbow bridge. We miss you guys!
Snaffy and BabyKat were our first two cats. Snaffy left us on April 30, 2005 and BabyKat passed away on November 15, 2006.
Snaffy was a gift from Rachel for her father for his birthday. Rachel found her and her brother, Grover, in a cardboard box in a parking lot. Snaffy was the first cat I lived with. She was very lonely, having come from a household of 4 cats, so instead of waiting to find her a Maine Coon or Somali playmate, we went to the local shelter and came home with BabyKat.
BabyKat was 4 months old, less than 2 pounds, but a feisty little kit, who moved right in and made herself at home. For the longest time, she and Snaffy pretended not to get along, making me sick with worry that they would never stop fighting. But one day RJ called me to tell me they were grooming each other when he came in. So, the little beasties had just put on a show for me of not getting along! Once the truth was out they stopped acting and were the most loving companions. :)
Snaffy and BabyKat were best buddies until Snaffy had to go over the rainbow bridge and I think Baby missed Snaff. They are finally together again.
On February 18, 2008, Jack didn't wake up. He'd gone down to Birmingham with RJ, who was working there at the time and his heart just gave out. He died in his sleep with no pain and though he left us way too early, we are glad he did not have to suffer.
Frolic in the eternal hunting grounds, catch a few mice and wait for us!
